BIOGRAPHY
Carrie M Steele, a Connecticut native, is an artist, art educator and art therapist. Having been immersed in the arts her entire life, Carrie developed a keen understanding of the innate need to create as well as the emotional response to art. Carrie achieved a B.S. in Art Education from Souther Connecticut State University, she then moved to San Francisco where she earned a M.A. in Art Therapy from Notre Dame De Namur University. After receiving her degree, Carrie relocated to the east coast where she continued her career as an art educator. Although engaged in the arts throughout her career, it wasn’t until 2019, after she took an abstract painting course at Silvermine Arts Center, that she became enamored with artistic expression through abstraction. Carrie currently teaches art in Greenwich, CT. She resides in New Canaan, CT with her husband and young son.
